Local Events in the Kenosha and Racine Area

In the Summer, the Kenosha and Racine area does not tend to take a break. As a local, I witness this first hand, and I get to experience all of the events put on by the businesses in the area. The events can range from museum experiences to live music to the opening of restaurants that thrive during this time of year. There is no better time than Summer to immerse yourself in the culture of your city by spending your warm, sunny days with the locals. Here are some events going on in the area that showcase what Kenosha and Racine are like during the Summer:

One of the most classic parts of Kenosha in the Summertime is the Kenosha Public Market that goes on every Saturday through the Summer up until October 30. The Kenosha Public Market brings together many different local vendors to bring Kenosha county residents the freshest foods. Not only is this a great market to shop at, but it’s a place where you can bring your whole family, including your dogs! They say their mission is “to be a regionally recognized urban market that connects, educates and empowers a diverse community to support a healthy, sustainable food system that contributes to the success of local food growers, producers and local entrepreneurs who support our mission,” and I think that with a mission like that, this is a business that many people would love to support. Also, during the Summer, their entire market is outside, so you can be in the Sun while you’re shopping. https://www.kenoshapublicmarket.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw2NyFBhDoARIsAMtHtZ64j8Pp3rZN6ioPz8Ot7UrDWr9k9P55TzEqmuovFOT3nOCbeYNSJJMaAtq-EALw_wcB

If you’re someone who appreciates art, then head on over to the Kenosha Public Museum and check out the Transparent Watercolor Society of America 45th Annual National Juried Exhibition. This exhibit will be displaying eighty paintings from artists across the country. These paintings are not centered on one specific subject. They come from many different artists, which is reflected by the many different styles of art represented through the paintings. With watercolor paintings, there is no such thing as boring. Maybe this watercolor exhibit could inspire you to try out this method of art for yourself. https://museums.kenosha.org/public/exhibits-2/special/

If you’re looking for live music or comedy shows, Kenosha and Racine have some of that going in the Summer. There are comedy shows at the Kenosha Comedy Club most Saturdays throughout the Summer. If comedy shows aren’t quite your things, but live music is, there is plenty of that here as well. Franksville Craft Beer Garden in Racine has live music every Friday night during the Summer which started May 21. These events always help to bring people closer together and give people an opportunity to have fun. https://kenoshacomedyclub.com
